120 Seconds – The I.E.C.T. Hermann Hauser sponsors audience award

49 Tyroleans used their 120-seconds chance on the way to self-employment. Audience award for ice climbing park in East Tyrol.

In October, 49 Tyroleans, supported by local entrepreneurs and founding experts, tried to find out the market potential of their service or product ideas and how their business ideas could be perfected.
24 of the projects presented made it through the competition for “Tyrol’s best business idea” and to the finals of the 120 Seconds Chance of the Standortagentur Tirol: Over the last few days, participants were still ambitiously competing for online votes, before they finally had to face the jury one last time yesterday. In the evening, six business ideas were distinguished as the best in Tyrol.

          • Valentin SchützGronda, a career and recruiting platform for the gastronomy and hotel industry that systematically brings together skilled personnel and companies.
          • Werner MontibellerCranioFlex, an innovative head piece for massage tables. The head flexibly hangs from the head piece instead of resting on the familiar head-rest. The patients profit from the relaxed and comfortable position of their head, while the work of the therapist is also facilitated by the head piece.
          • Vittorio MessiniEisklettergarten. Construction of an ice climbing park in the area of the Tauernhaus in Matrei by the “Bergsport Osttirol” association. The aim of the project is to inspire sustainable protection of the regional economic development, to define new target groups, and to contribute to the branding of East Tyrol and to the strengthening of the competence field outdoor sports/mountain experience.
          • David Tschabitscher und Robert RothApson. Tailored shirts and suits for men at off-the-rack prices. As a social product, it also provides tailors with wages four times higher than usual.
          • Markus VogelBassalo, a new type of sport and simultaneously the perfect product for exercising this sport. In this game, players try to toss and catch a ball using special large cups. So far, approximately 7,000 games have been sold. Companies using Bassalo as advertising gifts also report a high market potential.
          • Regina Gasteiger und Alexander FührenRund ums Dirndl. Accessories for traditional costumes, such as bracelets and purses, custom-made and individually embroidered. In 2016, a men’s collection will also be developed.

The top 6 candidates are rewarded with a spot at “Startup Live“ at the end of November in Innsbruck as well as the chance to fine-tune their business ideas and companies during a two-month individual coaching at the “What A Venture” startup academy. All of this will be made easier due to a free working space at the Werkstätte Wattens for two months and a grant of 500€ each. Vittorio Messini’s project “Eisklettergarten” was also presented with the audience award in the 120 Seconds Chance finals: The I.E.C.T. Hermann Hauser provided a trip to London and to the startup hotspot Cambridge.
