In the fourth edition of the I.E.C.T. – Challenge IT and innovative technologies / services startups are invited to apply until September 5th.The top five will present themselves on October 12, 2018, directly after the Investors Academy, in the Werkstätte Wattens in front of an investor jury led by Hermann Hauser. The winning team will also be invited to Cambridge and can discuss extensively with Hermann Hauser in a private session.

Among all participants, 10 nominated start-ups will have the chance to pitch their business to a jury via Skype.The Skype Pitches will take place during the week of September 24-28. The top 5 start-ups will pitch on the 12th of October 2018 before the I.E.C.T. – Capital Partners, led by Hermann Hauser.At the joint get-together after the pitches, the participants can expand their network and make valuable contacts with the team of I.E.C.T., industry partners and investors.

What’s in for you?
For the participating start-ups, a convincing pitch in Wattens can really be worthwhile, because not only Hermann Hauser himself, but also the I.E.C.T. – Capital Partners, private investors and industry partners bring a dense network and strong investment interest. Thus, the Challenge participants from the previous years, Anyline and 360kompany, each secured six-figure investments by Hermann Hauser.The winner of this year’s Challenge will get a trip to Cambridge and a private session with Hermann Hauser.But the other finalists won’t go home emptyhanded either.For example, they receive a free promotional check by the Cemit and other helpful support from our cooperation partners.
Additionally this year start-ups that want to teach children a healthy and active way of living should feel encouraged to apply. These start-ups can count on working with motion4kids, which supports innovative sport and education projects for children between the ages of three and ten.
The goal of motion4kids is to improve the health, learning and social skills of the children, to sustainably increase their quality of life and to promote their integration.

More about Magdalena Hauser
After completing her studies in economics and interior design and her first activities in the start-up scene, Magdalena Hauser founded the I.E.C.T. – Hermann Hauser, together with Josef, Johannes and Hermann Hauser. Access to international entrepreneurial know-how and smart money were and still are the focus of attention. In February 2018 Magdalena took over the management of the I.E.C.T. and in May 2018, together with three other co-founders, she founded the association AI Austria – Austrian Society for Artificial Intelligence.

Kurt Kofler holds a PhD in natural sciences from the University of Innsbruck. After the time as research assistant at the Medical University of Innsbruck, he joined Cemit where he was responsible for the development of R&D projects. After a short period as independent consultant for innovation projects he was appointed as CEO of the Tyrolean Business Angel GmbH.

Mag. Johannes Hauser graduated from business and economics at the University Innsbruck and gained experience in international investments due to 3-years working for a financial management company in Cambridge and London. He was consulting different startups in the Cambridge area as well, in which his cousin Hermann Hauser invested. In his role he made, in cooperation with Hoare Octagon venture fund, analysis and common decisions for new investments as well as further investment rounds.
