What we do

Tyrol has all ingredients to create a successful start-up ecosystem. In addition to the strong economic and strategic location in the center of the Alps, we have excellent universities and educational institutions with more than 30,000 students. Currently only 3% of Austrian start-ups come from Tyrol, as an essential ingredient the start-up ecosystem is missing.

The I.E.C.T. transmits through the organization and establishment of the three instrumental pillars, that this potential will be better utilized in the future.

Competence Hub

  • We identify potentials and innovations and through our close cooperation with universities and educational institutions, we make strong ideas visible.

  • Through our programmes and services, we actively contribute to the development of the start-up ecosystem in Tyrol. By developing their own training programmes, such as the Alpbach Summer School on Entrepreneurship, when Entrepreneurs are individually supported and supervised to implement their business idea.

  • Through Strategy Support and Innovation Scouting the existing needs are recognized, businesses and industries with the innovative start-ups are connected.

Investments

  • By using the cooperation and networking of the Competence Hub, scalable technologies and business models will be identified and visualized.

  • By establishing Investment Partnerships and formats like the I.E.C.T. – Challenge a steady Dealflow is generated. The individual deals from I.E.C.T. – Investment team for I.E.C.T. – Capital Partners are processed. Additional cooperations with CONDA, Speedinvest and other co-investments network will be established as well.

  • Start-ups need capital – quickly and easily. This reaction is carried out by the I.E.C.T. – Investment team and the I.E.C.T. – Capital Partners, which invest in the best ideas and technologies.

Bridge to Cambridge

  • The I.E.C.T. represents direct links to Cambridge and can benefit from the unique experience of Cambridge Phenomenon, from where more than 1500 start-ups have been emerged.

  • We allow promising start-ups – Focus Scale-up Phase – global market entry, through our partners in Cambridge. By developing its own scale programmes such as the Cambridge Bootcamp, we can deliver such optimal growth opportunities for entrepreneurs.

  • We have access to invaluable Know-how through Cambridge. This we transfer into the domestic market and make it not only available for start-ups and entrepreneurs, but as a cooperation partner for KMUs and industry.

  • We cooperate with an extensive network of partners in Cambridge and transfer it to educational trainings for Tyrol.
